Camera+ App

Camera+ App

Without a doubt, one of my favorite photography apps is Camera+. In spite of all the new photography apps hitting the market, Camera+ is one I can’t live without. Some of Camera+ features include:

  • Touch Exposure and Focus: you can set exposure separately from focus, helping control how light or dark your shots come out
  • Shooting Modes: There is a stabilizer that helps you get sharp photos, or the timer for your selfies
  • Digital Zoom: Up to 6x zoom
  • Front Flash: Love the front flash on this one
  • Clarity: This is a popular function that analyzes your photos and makes adjustments that bring out the details in previously dull photos.
  • Scene Modes: Although I don’t necessarily use these, there are scene modes in Camera+ including Food, Night, Portrait, Beach, Sunset, and more.
  • Effects: You’ll see a lot of photographers using these, sometimes to the extreme. Play around with options like HDR or Grunge.
  • Lightbox: Save and view photos from here rather than clutter your camera roll with bad photos
  • iCloud Lightbox sync: You can shoot on your iPhone and edit on the iPad later that night
  • Borders: There are several fun border designs you can add to photos if you are so inclined

Cons: The one thing I really don’t like is that fact that all the photos are saved in Lightbox. While it’s nice it doesn’t clutter up the camera roll (and you can still take photos in Camera+ when your iPhone camera tells you no more space), if you don’t remember to save the ones you like and your phone gets stolen like mine did several years ago — no more photos. I lost over 1,000 photos I had not saved yet. Price: $3.99 Apple Store
